MY PURPOSE
Dr. Crista Wallis
My name is Dr. Crista Wallis. I own and operate Monticello Animal Hospital which is a small animal and exotic animal practice in Shawnee, KS. I graduated Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. I spent 1 year on the industry side of our profession helping launch ProHeart6 while doing relief work in the Kansas City area before finding my permanent home in Shawnee, KS. I am a member of KVMA, KCVMA, AVMA, and soon to be a member of the Society for Veterinary Medical Ethics. In my practice, I have always focused on customer service and creating an educational, preventative and innovative experience for my clients.

My passion for knowledge lead me to research telemedicine after attending the VMX Innovative tract 4 years ago. Since then I have started using and developing strategies for incorporating telemedicine in daily practice to help improve the work/life balance of myself and others in the profession. Some of my goals with this webpage are:

Move the profession forward using telemedicine in a moral and ethical manner.

Be an educator in my profession to help bridge the gap between technology (telemedicine) and practicing veterinarians.

Building helpful and productive strategies for incorporating telehealth into our practices.

Work to bond future veterinarians and teaching hospitals with practicing veterinarians with the use of teleconsulting.

Enjoy my passion of educating and sharing with others in my profession and personal life!
